One option not offered by our competition is our "snatch out" hard drives. These removable drives are installed in the same places as CD and DVD drives. Each drive casing comes with it's own lock and key. These drives serve multiple purposes...
For security, they can be removed whenever the owner is not using the computer or doesn't want anyone to have access to the files on that specific drive.
For portability, if you have a removable tray for your drive on your home and office computers, it eliminates the need to carry cds or floppies... just take the whole hard drive with you, work on your files and take them back home after work. That also works for transferring files between computers at home or between friends. It is great for taking memory files for your games to a friend's house to use on their pc games.
For guests, you can have the main hard drive removable and have a secondary hard drive for guests to use a completely separate operating system when they want to use your computer. (works best with linux computers vs windows)
We must add that the primary operating system
that we offer is a custom version of Linux. We also offer commercial
operating systems as well, but
for a
generally higher cost due to the companies wholesale prices to small
companies such as this. Most people don't really understand what
Linux is. Originally, it was designed for high end, high security
corporate servers. But
it has since grown to be capable of general desktop use with software
that is just as easy to use as the more popular systems.
This
software is "open-source" (meaning that most anyone with
the proper schooling can design and edit the majority of software for
Linux as well as Linux itself) which allows us to offer better
systems for an overall lower cost. This is because Linux software, in
comparison, is either vastly cheaper or free! This depends entirely
on the wishes of each developer of the software offered for Linux.
For the most part, almost any program you can find on Windows™
or Mac™ has
a Linux alternative
that is much cheaper or free!
Also, Linux is universally
independent. Meaning it can be installed on one computer and the hard
drive be transferred to another computer and work perfectly. The only
hardware dependencies Linux has is type of video card and amount of
RAM in the system. Also, there are many ways to install software from
all other operating systems on a Linux computer... allowing not only
a smooth transition from your current operating system to Linux, but
also allowing you to use the more popular programs you are used to
while enjoying the unparalleled security and functionality of the
Linux operating system.
